Overview: ESMT IS 190 teacher Erika Gabela chose to focus her Charity Checks lesson on environmental issues. She used news clips to highlight several environmental issues. Students then worked in teams to research related charities using brochures and websites. After choosing their charities, the students made posters and gave a 3-minute presentation to the class based on their research. Each student then wrote a business letter and created a piece of art to accompany the Charity Check to their chosen charity. Teaching Materials: Overview and Action Plan |
